Care and instructions for your pottery

All items sold by Meredith June Ceramics that are intended for food use are food-safe.

Although Meredith June Ceramics pieces are considered to be every-day and functional pieces, they also require special care and consideration with use.

Washing: I always recommend hand-washing pieces, as this will extend the life of the glaze. All pieces are dishwasher safe, however, there is always risk of breakage of the piece and dulling of the glaze when put through dishwasher cycles.

Microwave: all pieces are likely microwave safe assuming they are not over-heated, unless otherwise noted on the packaging and description, however, there is always a risk of damage. We do not ensure pieces are always safe from microwaving.

Pieces with gold luster are never microwave-safe.

Thermal shock: ceramic pieces should not be exposed to rapid temperature changes, as this can cause damage. Always warm  pieces with some hot water before filling. Risk of thermal shock is greater with larger pieces. Never put a cold ceramic piece directly into the microwave or oven. Never put a hot dish into cold water. Always let boiling water cool prior to pouring into a ceramic piece.

Refund policy

I want you to be very happy with your purchase. I measure and describe each item of pottery carefully for dimensions, size, usage, care, etc. Please read the descriptions and make sure that you are happy with the piece prior to your purchase. I make all of my pieces by hand in small batches so the dimensions can vary from batch to batch. Due to the nature of handmade ceramics, I do not accept any returns. If you have questions about a piece prior to purchase, please feel free to contact me, as I will do my best to rectify any issues on a case-by-case basis.
Please contact me with any questions at info@potterybymeredith.com.
